do you think of or ever heard of...

^ :( Awww poor thing. I dread the idea of that happening so I try to make sure the lids are always closed. In this heat tho it's not always easy.
Mine were fed only a short time ago. I do spoil them. They get fed twice a day but I only give them a small amount each time. Might explain why they're growing so damn fast. I'm beginning to think the little tank is gonna look overstocked before long. :rolleyes:
I'm gonna try out the hand feeding with them guys. They're all teeth free. Think I shan't try with the pictus once they come home. Really don't want the nutters accidentally biting my hand. :blink: :lol:
Ah slightly o/t am sooo tempted by birchers Fishy411. They strike me as intelligent. I only didn't choose them for my biggest as I decided the ground area really isn't big enough for them as adults. Maybe in the future with a bigger tank..... :shifty:
Hugs,
P.

I haven't tried hand feeding mine but I probably could. When I do a gravel vac, they come up to the tube and try to eat the particles that are going up the tube. Of course, they can't get to them but that doesnt' stop them from nipping at the tube. They also rub up against my hand so they aren't scared.

Ok, I tried holding some in my fist, kind of messy, so I just held some in my fingers;

It worked out pretty good, considering I've never tried this before.

Several of my swordtails will come over and try to pull freeze-dried tubifex cubes out of my fingers. I think it's awesome that they are so unafraid of me.

Loved the pictures! Great shots.
