I'm not too bad really, tend to spill some water, but not really more than a couple of drips. I am however great in knocking off the hose of the filter ... causing the filter to start draining the tank Needless to say, that this Does cause a huge mess (in my bedroom, on this huge rug ... and under the desk on second floor as well).
My tanks are in the lounge and I always manage to spill some amount of water on the carpet .
It's got to the point that I now send my better half out somewhere while I am doing my weekly maintenance so she doesn't get a nark on with me for trashing the place!!
As long as I stick to my regular routine things stay smooth and only a few drops are spilt (plus I have hardwood floors so those clean ups are easy). But if I get adventurous and change things around, I usually splash out a little water... but the Pacus are short tempered to anything more than a water change. They don't attempt to bite me but they have learned to splash water in my face and all over the floor
Hi. usually when i do a water change i only spill a few drops here and there...When i first did one i let the syphon hose fall and the water was draining on the floor ...Thank god my husband was not at home He helped once And got so agro i was gonna drown him Hes got no patience My tanks in the lounge which is open to the kitchen and easy access to the sink
I make far too much mess... spill lots of water... I was messing about with my filter last week and one of the pipes came off.... Water has spewed everywher... I just hope the carpet under my tank doesnt rot
Wow....the most mess I make is getting maybe a dribble or two down the side of the glass on the tank....but not much if at all on the floor. I use a python though.
I have the python so I rarely make a mess, aside from if the python detachs itself from the tap in which case I get a small amoun of water on the tiled kitchen floor.
The time I do make mess is when I do other tank maintenance such as pruning plants and changing he decorations around. Then I have towels on the carpet around the tank....I know better than not to!!
I generally make a good mess, but I have hardwood floors. Most of my problems occur when I leave the room when my tanks draining or when I get distracted.
The worst feeling is walking back in the room to see the tank draining on the floor.
Hell, I've soaked the floor, sprayed the wall, sprayed & soaked myself. Thank God only with the tanks in the basement. I'm quite a bit more careful with the tank upstairs, just a few drips here & there. When I set that tank up, I got a desk runner from the office store, It extends past the sides & front a little. Keeps drips & spills off the carpet.
I made a MONSTROUS mess back before I got smart enough to know how to operate a gravel vacuum so YES - I sucked on the end of it. Well, as not smart as that was, it was even not smarter when I started getting water in my mouth to yank it out of my mouth, water was still coming through it AND I spit all the water from my mouth all over the couch.
So as if I didn't have enough of a mess already... I was romping around trying to get to the kitchen to wash my mouth out with water and I stepped right into the bowl that I had thrown the end of the vacuum into and there was water in it.
Come to think of it, I have never told anyone that story before.
lol
plenty of mess, i kind of overflowed the bucket last change so the carpet didn't look the greatest but being when that tank is it doesn't really matter.
