yes i do like snails!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

i have a golden mystery snail that i bought a couple of months ago and that turned into 157 mystery snails within a few weeks (babies) and then she laid another clutch about a week ago so that number is about to spike rapidly lol

some of my babies

I've got 3 clutches in a floating container in the tank right now.. so hopefully some will hatch... I just got these guys yesterday and they are my first big snails.. and my first time trying to hatch an egg clutch..

I would be happy if 1/3 clutches had any babies hatch!

Will probably end up having to buy a larger tank after I move, as these 6 snails already looked kinda cramped in the 10g..

Might have to turn a 55g tank into a snail refuge.

as long as you keep them warm and in a humid environment they should be fine. just make sure they can get to water and food straight away as they will be pretty tired after their breaking out ordeal.

will definitely need a decent size tank for them as they eat tonnes lol i have mine in a 80L tank at the moment but soon i will start dividing them out between my other tanks once they are big enough to not get eaten by my fishies :)

I've been reading up quite a bit on apple snails and have been changing the tank accordingly..

Added another filter, raising ph, added calcium.. I have the hatching container in there..

I got the clutch from someone yesterday, and one of the eggs has already hatched.. theres a lil guy movin around the container.. I'm going to leave it in there until it grows a bit just to be safe.

Tank wise, once we move I will probably get rid of the 10g and buy a nicer looking larger setup.. Hopefully something around 33g.

I am only keeping this 10g and a 55g when I move, so hopefully they wont over-run the 10g before I move.

Is that a trick question? I'm killing 100's of those hitchikers weekly....

But I do like mystery snails. Black and blue are more my taste.

I haven't had a problem with hitchikers breeding rapidly.. There are probably 20 visible ones in there right now.. Who knows how many are in the gravel.. I like them.. they keep the apple snail shells nice and clean!

I also have 3 nerites, couple malaysian trumpet snails(again probably more in the gravel), and I had a clutch of large pond snail eggs that hatched about a week ago.

So lots of species of snails chillin in the tank.. the only other type of snail I want is ramshorn.. Cant seem to find them around here.. maybe one day I will get some blue ramshorns off aquabid.. but $10 each + shipping seems like a lot.. maybe I can get some people locally to get a couple too so the shipping wont be outrageous.

I love the blue ones.. I only have 1, but hopefully 1 of the clutches will get me some blues. Never seen black before :(

i have ramhorns, mts, and pond snails. i breed them all, but my MTS population fell dramtically a while back. i'm planning on getting trapdoors and giant rams in the summer. when i get a goldfish pond when we move i'm gonna breed apple snails in there.

your snails are pretty! :good:
