hi i wanted to see how many people have a community tank i'm not sure i have a sengal bichir and those are predatory but i have other peaceful fish to

I have a 47.5 USG community and am currently awaiting delivery of an 18" cube to be set up as a nano reef.

Well, I currently have platies and guppies in all my 3 tanks, so I suppose that counts as a community? And cories in one of them. This autumn I'll be setting up a bigger community, with tetras and gouramis etc.

All 5 of my tanks are community.Ijust prefer the variety of fish that I can keep in a community tank.Tank 6 is waiting to be filled and that will be community too.Big predatory or aggressive fish just dont interest me

i would assume that a community would have dif types of fish. not just peacefull. all of my tanks are either speices or community.

Well right now my 55g is a species tank of only tetras (not counting the pleco) but it will be a community once I'm able to get make the school of tetras bigger then I'll be able to get angels and that will make it a comminity and I guess my 10g is a community since it has a cory in it, but my long 20g is going to be a species tank of female bettas from styx and the rest of my tanks are species tanks because it only has 1 to 2 fish in them.

I have a 120l commuity tank with 9 platies(2M 7F) 3 dwarf gori's 2 rams and one plec

then a 60l for two black moors

25l Q/H tanks currentley housing one platie (male got beat up by the other male)

then the 120 reef that at the moment is very cloudy due to the sand I put in yesterday

I have 3 community tanks, 3 species tanks, and then all my Betta tanks, which I guess count as species tanks too. :)

Exactly what is the definition of a community tank? I've heard some people refer to it as a peaceful tank with no agression issues. Others is just a bunch of different fish in a tank.

If it is a bunch of different fish, i've got that, but its definatel an agressive tank

I define community as a group. A community tank is a group of different species of fish that can live together in the same tank. I might be wrong, but that is what I always though the meaning is

Well, if you go by the real definition of a 'community' (science wise) its all the living organisims within a certain region, that include preds and prey. However generally speaking 'community' fish in the aquarium hobby are the ones that won't or can't rather do much harm. So I guess technically speaking any tank with a variety of different species could be called a community, whilst a species tank would be just a 'population'.
