Example : at work the section next door to me has a fish tank that houses angelfish and harlequin rasboras. It has some amazon swords and cool decorations. Personally I think the tank is too small but anyways. From time to time we need to pick up and drop off things to/from there. I always find myself staring at the tank for waayyy too long, sometimes to the point where peeps come looking for me  It gets to the stage now when people, after they see me going there say "see you in a few hours:

Example 2 : down the corridor at work (quite a fair way down too) there is a WAAAYYY too small tank with goldfish. And they are big goldfish too, like about 4-5 inches. The tank has some nice plants. We have to, as part of our job, walk past that fish tank to go somewhere else to get stuff. Guess who volunteers

And thats just in my everyday life. My doctors surgery has a tank etc.

Is it just me that this happens to?

when my mum goes to the dentist, i always ask to come with because there is a MASSIVE(maybe 200 g) community planted tank in the waiting room.....i could spend days looking at it :p

This one girl in my class owns(well her dad owns) the biggest home saltwater aquaria in Western Australia.the tank is right in the centre of the house and is visible from 3 rooms, a corridor and a stairway.
so i was walking down the corridor one time and got distracted by a few black percula clown fish.....distracted for 30 mins :p

how embaresed i was :*

my chinese take-away has a 20G long with "one of everything" you know the ones.

one glowlight tetra
one neon
one cardinal
one gourami
etc.....

theyre all lonley and bored brainless. poor sods.

what makes me laugh is the tanks immaculate. pity they didn't think the stock through a bit more. what a waste

My biggest distraction= my lfs...
I go in there and its like you know, just for some fish flakes or bloodworms and maybe some hamster food, and i find myself just staring at all the different types of fish in the tanks for half and hour or more....And then i walk out and only remember when i get home what i went out to the lfs for and i've forgotton to get everything i went there
for  !

Yep, but my excuse is I'm checking stocking levels, care levels etc. Also IDing their fish, plotting to steal ones I like lots

Its sad/irretating though when you get attached to a particular fish at your lfs and it stays there for months on end and it always perks up when its see's you and then you come it one day....And its gone  :-( ! Sold "cha-ching".

at my LFS theres an arowana a pacu and a ray at the back.theyre amazing and are permenant residents!

I get distracted by big home aquriums.....
It doesn't matter, SW or FW.

There are 2 chinese restaurants where I live that we visit about once a week. They both have 200 gallon tanks. We usually pay for our buffet, then I go look at the fish before eating, or even sitting down. One of the restaurants keeps their tank really nice, the other one is not so nice. The not so nice one also has about a 40 gallon tank and a koi pond. For the last month or longer when we visit, these 2 tanks have been so dark green you can barely see the fish. It's not like algae bloom green, it's a real dark (think overdose of green food-coloring) green. I don't know why they do this, the fish can't like it? Oh well, I've thought of offering to volunteer to help clean it up, but I wouldn't know what to do.

we walk into ANYWHERE with a fishtank and my husband is like

"oh god here we go again"

cause I'm either going to

a ) want one like it

or

b ) scream and moan about how its overstocked, wrong fish together, or whatever else problem it has

edit: these smilies have a mind of their own somtimes

I get distracted by the 3 fish tanks in the mall food court, the tank in the pharmacy and then theres a nice one inside a big department store. All are maintained by the same company. They are gorgeous tanks!!!

I really love the biggest tank in the mall food court. It's got all different types of malawi cichlids in it  Also the biggest plec I've ever seen!! Not sure what kind it is but it's quite nice looking.
