Do These Fish Need Brackish Water?

I have a 10g freshwater community with 3 fish in it so far, and a pH of 7.5. I really like wrestling halfbeaks and have heard from some sources that my tank is big enough for them, and from others that it's too small. Plus, I've heard from some people that they need brackish water and from others that they don't. Please help so I know the right information and don't end up buying one when when I shouldn't have.

10G would be too small then as Neale states they require a tank that is 60cm long,

a 2x1x1 is 15G

fair enough. We have 2ft long x10in wide x 12inch high, which is about 10gallons.

Halfbeaks are cool tho and do well in many tanks. I have kept them in hard alkaline water without any salt and did they fine. But they eat their young, which is really annoying because you never get enough babies to start another colony.
