Do I Need To Wash Silver Sand?

..........before I place it in tank?? I know I do for gravel but wasn't sure about the sand.

Also, am I OK to to plant the tank once all the water is in the tank becuase I don't have the plants yet but I want to get the filter and heater going?

yes to both....

wash the sand really well befor eputting it in the tank put a hose in a bucket with 1/3 sand in. keep tipping the cloudy water out untill the sand settles within 30 second of you stiring it...

and yes you can add the plants after the water, this makes very little diffrence at all

I have washed my silver sand but it seems to have gone very thick?? I know it is similar to playpit sand and I know that goes thick when it has dried after being wet, do I have anything to be worried about before I fill my tank up with water??

you will be fine, when you get it in your tank and the water on it, it will look like it did in the bag
