Just wondering if my snails will be okay scavenging in my 10gal tank withe guppies or should I be feeding them algae wafers or something? I have 1 zebra, 1 tracked and 2 little horned. Also bladder snails which gatecrashed and are eating my plants.

Yes feed them algae pellets/wafers. Obviously not too much but they will need some form of nutrition. They will also be eating leftover flake from the Guppies and algae/biofilm from the tank, but it won't be sustainable for very long.

No disregard what Sophie said. Nerites cannot be fed food. They will not seek out food you drop in the tank and will mostly likely not eat it even if they stumble on it. The only way to feed them is to culture algae on rocks outside their tank and then place them in the nerite tank when they are covered. Without ample algae growing your tank your nerite snails will starve to death, and there is no way to feed them with food like other inverts/fish. Good luck.

Hm news to me - fair enough
I've watched nerites sit on algae pellets after they've been dropped in *shrug*

I disagree.  My nerites will selectively go find the algae wafer, veggie sticks, or fresh veggies I add to the tank.

Even though I said I'd never entertain having snails in any of my tanks after hearing that Nerites aren't capable of reproducing in fresh water, I've added 6 to my 200l and after placing a piece of cucumber in the tank for the fish and seeing 4 of the 6 of my new shelled friends appear on top of it after 20 minutes, I too would say they can be supplementary fed

Yes so.. Don't disregard what I said ;)

Ok, well I was given some algae pellets and wafers with my shrimp so I'm sure if they want they can eat that. Some of the guppies seem to like that! I'm going to treat the inverts to organic cucumber too so we will see.
