Do I Need Ferts?

I have recently added java fern & anubias(both on bogwood) & crypts(planted in the sand).

Do i need to add ferts or will they be ok?

I've never had any joy with plants,so i'm trying to keep these going.

We need some tank info:

Volume? Type of lighting (T8, T5 etc) and how many Watts of light.

55 gals - Twin T8 1 x 30w 1 x aqua gro,dimmer but unsure what wattage.

I have upped lights on for 7 hrs in the morning 7am-2pm,then back on 6pm-10pm.

If they're the same length they'll be the same wattage, my guess is that they are, 60W over 55 gallons isn't that much, but is enough for the species you've bought, the fish should provide adequate nutrients.
