Do I Need Co2 If I Run These Lights?

60l aqua one with arcadia 3 x 24w t5 lights, if i were to run all 3 bulbs would my plants require co2? could i get away with just some flourish excel?

You'd definitely need CO2, it might be achievable without CO2 with just one tube running but your dosing will have to be good.

wow, I think that ma be an overkill. My guess is that you would need a lot of co2 and liquid carbon

thanks for the quick replies, i might try running 2 lights like the guy in this journal did with the same tank that would make it 3 wpg right? or then again maybe just one to be safe

It'll make it more than 3WPG, the WPG rule applies to T12 tubes only, T5's emit much more light, you'll really struggle to maintain a set up with that much light on just excel, you'll need really good circulation (10-15x turnover). It depends on what you want to grow.

the only high light plant i want to grow is dwarf hairgrass, running 1 tube seems my only option then unless i get co2

You might get it going on 1 tube with excel, growth will be slower than usual however.

hmm i might look into the diy fire extinguisher co2 but as a complete plant noob i didnt really want to try anything too complecated

FE setups are easy, anyone can do it, providing you know how to use a an adjustable spanner.

Wow the equivalent of 5WPG there lol defo one tube max and it'll be more than enough for your Hairgrass.
