well afew days ago i put an order in at my local fish shop for the Aqua One Recency 80 (a 180l/40UK Gallon tank), i upgraded the filter to a Aquis 2250UN-C with a UV steriliser built in. it does up to 300l but i want to have the best water quality posable, and i have a spare £100 to put towards a second external filter. i know this is not nesasary but i would rater be safe than sorry, is this recomended?

shang hi

Not a bad idea, having up to 5x water turn over an hour wont hurt :)

But bear in mind that some fish may not like that (high water movement that is).... But over filtering is never bad, esp if you have money to burn!

lol i am burning money for a 14 year old,£800 so far this tank has cost, im thinking holy......
but my parents offered to help if it helps the fish out (its in their lounge). and yeah about the water movement thing is a problem for some fish but i trust my local fish shop for their imformation, i trust them because of i was going to spend about £200 more on the tank and they said "no! bad idea for the size of tank" where as i've gone into shops and they say "u need this, that, 4 of those.....". but thanks for the info every one.

No, you showed me that filter at school today and it turns over 1100lph. It already turns over 6x an hour!

That's even enough for Mbuna.
