Do I Have A Pair Of Rams?

I got 2 rams today. One was of a paler colour and one was really dark. The dark one has lots of black near its head (like lines) and the other didnt have any lines at all. Does this suggest that ive ot one of each gender?

Ha ha, after buying two rams the other day, I discovered both mine were male.

The best way Ive been told to tell the difference is (and since buying two more females is definately the way to tell) the female will have a pink belly and blue speckles in their black spot under the dorsal fin.

However, depending on their age, sometimes the pinkness in the female belly doesnt show much, but they would definately have the blue speckles in the black spot.
