Do Guppy's Fight In Smaller Groups?

Hi. I have just read that guppy's need to be kept in groups of six otherwise they will fight if in smaller groups and get lonely. Is this true? and if it is, is it all right to purchase one every 28 days without it fighting with one or two other guppy's and getting too lonely?

Your two guppies should be fine, as I had a group of guppies, but unfortunatly they died...but anyway there is one left and he seems fine..he just stays with my mollies and is fine!!

Not really that a fighting Guppy can do any serious harm, but.... I tend to agree that they are rather social beings and prefer to be kept in company of larger groups.... if you do intend to keep 6 of them..... maximum 2 of them should be males.....
