Do Girls Jump? (photo New)

had to split my 2 new girls already..was watching them and the tiny one is being bullied so I have moved her to my spare filter jug but I cant find the lid so she has a plastic cover over it. Why do I keep buying bettas...

Mine have never jumped and I don't put a top on when i'm home. For when I leave I made a little makeshift top out of cardboard for one of my bettas and I use a cd for the other just in case they feel like making an escape.

Yes they sure can! I learned that just yesterday.
When I was trying to transfer my bettas into some bags so I could float them in their tank... I was trying to scoop out my gal with a net and BOY did she jump. She almost jumped right out of the container I had her in.

YES! I lost my favorite betta girl because she jumped out of the 10 gallon sorority--it had a lid, but there was space around the heater and filter and she jumped through that.

Yep, they def jump. I have two that both leap out of the water when I feed them.
A while ago, I went to catch one of my girls in the sorority tank, for spawning. I opened the lid, had a plastic pot in my hand and before it even reached the water, one of them jumped straight into it. It was very funny. Unfortunately it wasn't the one I was going to catch! [the only 2 I have that jump are the LFS ones]

little jumpers...they have lids on anyway..I got lids on any fish now apart from the pond of course.... not a bad idea stop the blasted toads getting in the male has been sitting on edge of pond tonight. Last night the female toad had lost her bearings and was sitting in my back porch in my gardening shoe. sorry gone off topic

look at my baby girl..bullied in the tank...and then bullied by her friend..really got no space though..excuse dust on shelf didn't realise it was that bad...and rubbishy photo darent ask son to take it he will realise I have got more bettas and tell his dad!

Your females are abit like mine,but one of them has a completely maroon tail instead of hints of blue!

I will try and take a photo of the other one when I have cleared up the kitchen, fed dogs, and cleaned out guinea pigs!
