Do Fantails Change Colour?

My lovely fantail is going fromn gold to silver/white. Is this normal? I've had him/her for around 8 months and he is around 3 inches in length. (Does anyone know a rough age?). He is very healthy - beautiful fins and swims around happily. I feed him peas/grapes once a week (not at the same time) to vary his diet based on the advice of this forum. Am I doing anything wrong for him to change colour?

I don't know much about goldfish but from what I have heard the males will change colors to attract females but lets wait and see from someone who knows more then me.

no you are doing everything right.... goldfish tend to change colour when they get older it is natural and normal so don't be afraid

Hey gold fish do change colours, i got my partner two red comets to add to her tank. With in 6 months they had both gone white, and one was just left with a red dot on its head. I dont think you have any worries here!
