Do Corys Eat Greens?

Hi all , do Corys eat greens and if so do i need to "prepare" them in any way ? or can I jus chuck em in ? Thanks in advance.

IME not a lot. They are more meaty boys. And with the mouths they have, they can't really chew their way into a slice of cucumber, they are more like hoovers. I do occasionally find them taking a suck at the boiled crushed pea I feed the other fish, you could try that, but it's probably not that essential if you only have corys.

Cheers for the advice, got 6 corys in a 125litre juwel with sand substrate and 2 big gnarly pieces of bogwood, no plants as yet. I understand they are filtering through the sand looking for food and have been wondering if there is any way of "seeding" the substrate as it were so they may actually find something, must be kinda sad for em searching all day long and finding nowt

Ah bless! What are you feeding them on? I'm sure they would love a weekly treat of bloodworms or something. Mine get jellied bloodworm, brineshrimp and daphnia twice a week.

Currently they are fed on tablets and sinking pellets with a little pinch of flake from time to time, I'm not too sure about the quality of live food at my LFS so have given it a miss

Gonna get myself another 6 of the mustachioed little chaps soon to take my school up to a dozen.I think there fantastic fish

i cut of the edge and put it in but some people boil it also if you want to weigh it down i reccomend the screwcumber i got one of planet catfish works like a charm

mines also like cucumber , what i do i make a sort of veggie kebab on a screwcumber (found on eBay) with cucumber and courgette , the Cory's go for the cucumber and the Otto's go for the courgette lol
