I think I'm going to take the big step and switch over to gravel. All I have to do is actually FIND the sand I want to use (either sand-blasting or pool filter).... It's not really that easy to locate!
I was wondering if I need to go out and get some MTS for when I make the switch, or if common ramshorm snails would work? My tank is already loaded with ramshorn snails, and when they are young they do bury themselves in the gravel until they reach about 1cm in size. I don't know if they would do the same thing in sand, or even if they did if they had the same effect as MTS. I'm planning on stirring as many as I can out of the gravel when I switch over anyways.
(I know I still need to stir the sand up myself, but a little bit of daily help from snails is a plus!)
Thanks!
