Like I was looking at my guppies VERY closely and I saw that you can see the scales on them. Every single one. One of my guppies had dropsy and is pretty much treated now but the others are perfectly fine. Even the babies have scales sticking out a tiny bit

You can see the little scales

Looks normal to me. Unless it looks like the scales are actually pineconing instead of the scales just being visible, I would say that’s normal. I also breed endlers, which are similar to guppies, and I see their scales all the time.

oh nice. i wanted to breed endlers but then figured out that endlers and gupps can breed. oof. i was worried cuz one of my other fish just recently had dropsy

Look down on the fish from above it. If the scales are sticking out sideways from the body, that is pineconing. If the scales are not sticking out, the fish is just fat.

Watch the fish eat, if they eat well they probably don't have an internal problem like dropsy. If they stop eating and blow up like a balloon, and their scales stick out, that is a serious problem.

Monitor their poop. If it's coloured it is fine. If their poop is white and stringy, it's a problem.
