Hello,
I'm making a tiny sponge filter to use in case of emergency or unexpected fry.
I found all the materials I need for the small project, I'll put a small airstone in its lifting tube, but the only suitable sponge that I could find around here is 1.5" thick.
Is a 1.5" high sponge filter functional?
will there be enough pulling power to make water pass through the sponge into the tube?
Here are pics of the sponge in the horizontal position , the tube will only be able to be inserted 1" inside.
If this won't work. I can either put the sponge in a vertical position, but this will only leave 3/10 " of sponge thickness at the two sides.
Or I could silicon two squares of sponge one on top of the other to achieve the rquired height , the upper one will be drilled for the tube and the lower one will stay as it is.
AND... NO , I can' t get a bigger piece of sponge right now, we're on the border of a war zone and getting anything in the desired dimentions is very hard.
What do you think is the best option ?
Thanks!
