Diy Co2

Out of the CO2 shopping list, I think the powerhead will definately be the first purchase so I can observe how my fish will cope with it. They should be fine.
Should I place the powerhead at the same end of the tank as the filter outlet so all the flow is going the same way?
Or should I place it at the opersite end to the filter outlet so the 2 flows collide? Or would doing this cause too much tubulence?

I think its a question of experimenting, the idea is to get the plants to gently sway I have mine at the opposite end to my filter outlets.

I was thinking opposite end aswel as thats where I have the most space for it and the diffuser when I get it in the future.

It'll be a case of experimentation with your drop checker, placing it in different areas of the tank to see what the CO2 distribution is like, and then adjusting accordingly, also your fish will probably hide for a day or two after adding the power head, give them a few days to come accustomed to it.

I recon my rainbows, tetras and corys will love it. Itll be my angels that wont like the extra flow, like u said, itll probably take em afew days to get used to it.

My powerhead only turns on when CO2 is being pumped in, any bubbles that come out of the top of my ladder get blattered around the tank, seems to work quite well!

Tizer I started with the same diffusor as you, but I found I was waisting some of my Co2 because very large bubbles would blurt out from time to time and it use to startel the fish.
I now use this http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=5435

There are diffusers on ebay that are just as good for a fraction of the price of most of the online retailers, if you buy two you can alternate them, whilst one soaks in bleach to remove limescale the other can be used.

Does the limescale effect the diffusors performance, or just cause disscolouration?

im glad i got the ladder then, i've not had a single problem with it, especially with bubbles escaping. Admittedly it needs a little bit of attention when setting it up, but beats messing around with cleaning ceramic plates. Im just too lazy for that :)

Ladder is what im after. I think they look great. Gona place mine directly under my power head

Argh but the ladder takes up more tank space, and doesn't look as pretty as a diffusor imo
Im gona stick mine on the back wall in the corner so itll be out the way. I dunno i just think the ladders look cool plus theirs no cermaic disc to clean
I guess it all comes down to personnal prefrence really, they all do the same job

Standbysetting? (Or anybody who knows)
Sorry going abit off topic here but...

Can you please tell me how you put a photo of your tank in your signature please?
