i want a 3D background for my tank but they are soo expensive !!
just bye using polystyrene and pond cement.
i know how to make the background, but would using the pond cement affect the water conditions?
i am quite arty so i would be able to do it and when i do i would rinse it about 10 times.
so is this a good idea or should i just stick with rocks?

Pond cement will raise the pH a huge amount; you will need to soak it and change the water frequently for a while (not sure how long), not just rinse it.

They do look really nice though; I've been thinking about making one myself for ages.

thanks i will do that because we are on a water meter and rinsing and that will make a biig ole bill !
