I couldn't find an ideal background for my Betta tank so decided to make one. I found some cheap pebbles and glued them to the back of the tank. Then I wanted something to calm the flow from the filter so I built a big sort of ornament. I then planted a little plant in the top of the ornament. The photo isn't brilliant but let me know what you think. :)

Looks nice. I like it :)
I hope the pebbles are for aquariums.

It looks good, but I think it would be better if you layered it a little so you don't se any openings to the glass and the peppbles continued just a small amount above the water level :)

1. you say glue...do you mean like crazy glue? or say silicone.

2. I like the look but like tsi said it would look better layered.

3. I've seen this done before. It's actually what prevented me from purchasing a used 100 gallon tank. Had lava rock siliconed all over the inside glass. I didn't want to go through the pain of razor blading all that crap off. If I were going to do this I would silicone the rocks together and then silicone the whole thing to the back in 4-5 places so that it could be removed easily.

The gaps aren't big enough for my Betta to get trapped thankfully! Believe it or not, it is actually layered but I didn't want to take up too much room in the tank. I was quite pleased for a first attempt, practice makes perfect!
The pebbles are for aquariums and I used aquarium silicone. I'm not too worried about scraping the glue off as the tank only cost £12.99.
Thanks for looking :)

Looks good!

You could always put a black backing on the back of the tank - will effectively hide the gaps that can be seen here.

I can't see the picture anymore but as far as I remember the rocks were all shades of brown. A plain black might stand out allthough not as badly as the white does. You might consider going for a brown. Since it's not really going to be very visible you could just tape pieces of construction paper onto the back. Just try not to get it wet.

You are right, the pebbles are brown and some are grey. I think I might try some brown backing just to see what it looks like.
Thanks for your suggestions everyone :)
