Diy Algae Scrubber Examples/help

I hear this will help with a small nitrate problem i have.
Id like to build one, but not sute which type to build. I have a fluval 206 external filter. And i have a 110litre tank. I have a 4way air pump with two spare air flows free, and i have another double air pump spare.
I dont have lots of room to the sides or at the back.
Anyone no an easy one to make for my type of set up?

sorry. I want to know if there was an easy way to make your own algae scrubber for my type of setup??

Hmm, not entirely sure what is meant by DIY algae scraper as most of use shop bought algae scrapers, sponges, cloths and magnetic algae scrapers as far as I know.

not scrapper. Its called an algae scrubber. Its a bit of sewing mesh that collects algae to reduce nitrates.
You shine a light on it for long periods of the day. It also stops too much algae from growing in the tank as it grows on the mesh.

For a start algae is not caused by nitrates, as us planted tank people run algae free with nitrates way beyond the normal test kit reading of 50ppm.
 
So you want to start looking for other causes of your algae as it is certainly not nitrates (or phosphates).
 
Algae is normally caused by poor water quality due to rotting fish, rotting food, dying plants etc.

I havent got an algae problem. An algae scrubber isnt something to remove algae alage its to grow it.
