Well i lost Posidon a few days back, he was my thin little tail biter, no matter how much he ate he never put on weight, he became very quite and then died the next day (2 days ago) now i come home from work about 1.30 to find Neptune and Raja dead! no signs of anything, both looked in perfect health this morning

So now i am left with Maxie, 2 platies a guppy and a juvi sword with 8 panda kuhli in my 16 gal wondering what on earth to do, do i treat with something or not? i don't want to loose anyone else (they all look fine but so did todays 2 :-()

Could Posidon of had an internal problem that caused him to be so thin and went un-noticed in any other way? All water stats are fine, nothing new to the tank, did a water change when i found Posidon and another today

:rip: Boys :-(

I'm sorry I remember you said he was thin, I can't think what you should do sorry. I noticed my male is very thin and was worrying myself. My female is a right chunky thing.

I wonder why Neptune and Raja just died like that it's weird because they showed no symptoms. Hopefully someone can give you some advice. It's so annoying when you don't know why isn't it.

OMG Siobhan,- I am so, so sorry  I can't believe you've lost all 3 of them,- especially Raja after how far he's come  Totally gutting. I don't know about treating tank. I would do a water change for sure, and change some of the filter media. I hope that someone else can give you better advice hun xxx

I reckon I've had every ailment under the sun that a fish can get and yes fish getting thin and dying for no apparent reason. No matter how much you try to keep their conditions pristine something pops up and tests you. Its then that I feel like throwing in the towel and saying thats it I've had enough  But then I got to thinking.....fish are no different to us. Illness can strike us down at any time and if you are unlucky enough to get one that is terminal then there is nothing much anyone can do. So I guess some fish have the same problem too. I suppose its all in the genetics of how long we will last.

Well Maxie and friends still healthy so i am going to move Rory over today, give Prince and friends the full 15gal. This will give Maxie and Rory about 8 Gal each, plus i have another male arriving soon so it will just be split 3 ways from now on giving roughly 5 gal each :good:

I will continue with the daily water changes for now just to be sure :)
