Hi, I'm just about happy with my community tank now. It's a Juwel Rio 125, planted, bogwood and sand substrate. I did have a male Betta in there who was happy as larry, bubble nesting and getting on with everyone, but I've decided to get him a 10g of his own and design the tank purely around him.

So.. My current stocking is as followed:

9 Harlequin Rasbora,
5 Panda Cory,
3 Khuli Loaches,
2 Bolivian Rams.

Filter wise, I'm using the standard Juwel with a 1000 power head on. Removed the carbon and Nitrite foams and replaced with another fine blue and cirex (sp?). Levels are all perfect and my Ph is 7, currently running at 25 degrees celcius.

As the Rams seem to be mainly bottom dwelling aswell, I'd like a mid to top dweller, which is a reasonable size, suitable for my tank. I've looked at Dwarf Rainbows as an example, but I'm not sure if I could cope with 5 more as that would start to push my stocking and whether my tank is long enough for them.

Could you suggest something you think would be suitable, for me to research as I just feel this is what my tank is missing.

Thanks :)

I agree, they are very pretty.

How active are they? As in fast swimming around the tank, or are they quite laid back?

I have some Dwarf Gouramis who were actually put in their current tank as a Temporary Home, but they have definitely become the centerpiece of the tank they are in, i would definitely recommend them, beautiful fish to watch. Mine roam all over the tank but spend most of their time Mid to top.

Yes, gouramis are good mid to upper fish. How about a couple of Honeys or Pearls? The Pearls would be a bit bigger than the dwarves and might be a bit more centerpiece in that regard although not the brighter red/blue of the dwarves.

Salitail mollys are a pretty hardy fish. They are mid to top dwellers as well. They come in all sorts of colors and are live bearers.

Thanks for the suggestions, but as soon as I saw the Honey Gourami, I had to have them!

I just got a pair, but they're both very young at the moment. Seem to be loving their new enviroment too :good:

Yay! Glad I could be of help. I'd love gouramis myself but my Mrs wanted Angels... don't think that they would get on too well together

Still - the angels are great to watch, especially when they tilt to one side to try and catch a harlequin.
