Discus

could I keep a few discus in with an oscar, bichirs and clown loaches
or would the oscar beat on them and bichir try to fit his big mouth around one?

I would not keep discus with oscars, oscars are too boisterous and aggressive for discus. As well as this I can see the oscar beating the discus to food every time, and the discus wouldn't get the food they need.

Discus really need to be the main fish of the tank, mixed only with smaller non boisterous fish that can handle the same water conditions and high temperatures. Any larger or slightly aggressive fish will eventually lead to the downfall of the Discus
