So I was out shopping for a new strip light yesterday and found a discus in a lfs. So I started reading a discus book right there and decided the time was right. I went home bumped up the heater a bit, added my bogwood, went grocery shopping and when I got home made sure the temp was right (84F) Double checked my pH (6.4) and then went back to the lfs. I put him in after about an hour of the drip method and he went right to the back corner and hung out. Well about 3 hours later when it was feeding time guess what....He was eating and started swimming around the tank exploring. It was great Ive never had a fish adapt so quick. But im off to retest my water to make sure everything is cool. Im soo excited.

Sounds like a great experience Braddah. Ive been wanting discus and thought about them for my 55 gallon setup but i desided on cichlids instead.

Congratulations Braddah!!!! Discus are all beautiful!!!

well pics will be coming soon. between work and the new fishys I got like 3 hours to sleep. Discus need constant attention! :D But seriously, I have some otto's and like 6 harliquin rasboras in there. Also he has a friend! I know kinda an impulse but i was doing more research and found out that there health will suffer if kept singularly. So im keeping a pair for now. The rasboras freaked a little as the temp went up but now that every thing is all settled tey seem to be fine!

Wow your so lucky :hyper: I would love a discus, but I know I am not nearly expierenced enough to have one yet :p But I have learned alot from this forum

I wish you and your discus good luck :D I cant wait to see pics!

yes indeed when the babies room gets done this week I am going to be starting on my basement study where I can study my two favorite things military history and Fish and with 2 55 gallon tanks in there making an "L" shape. I may stick my hand into the discus world.
