I find this very odd...

My Discus who has been very dominant, is now being chased into hiding by one of the other fish. He has always always bossed around the fish chasing him, so I have no clue what is going on, only thing I can think of is the fish getting frisky?

I got a video of this aggression. The big orange one is a female, she is picking on the Cobalt Blue (aggressor) and even today, is sticking with the fish being chased. The Blue Diamond (in the right corner of the video) has also been somewhat aggressive to this hiding fish. Both the Cobalt Blue, and the Blue Diamond have been hanging around in the same corner of the tank.

What do you think, could I have two pairs? It is so hard to tell...

first off nice discus..

mine sometimes behave like this, not sure why either, but with mine the larger ones normaly pick on the smaller ones, but yours seem all around the same size,
also mine sometimes have like a kissing fight and kinda whip each other with the tails

Hey guys,

Set up a 29 gallon for the pair. I am waiting till' I see them breed in the community tank first, before I move them. I have stuck the bullied Discus into that tank for know. I have been fattening him up, and he seems to be doing fine. Should re-introduce him back into the group on Monday. So far, they show no signs of breeding, but still signs of pairing.

So I set that Discus in quarantine back into the tank, and give all of them a little food. I watch them and see that three of the Discus are pushing the other two away. Two of the three are fighting, and the other one is cleaning a spot off of a pot. She is only periodically pushing the other Discus away from the area. I am not sure who is going to be the parents, because it seems like two of them really want to be the parent! Ha!

It's full out fighting in the tank at the moment, but I am estimating in an hour or two there will be some breeding going on... :hyper:

Update: Looks as if my Red Melon, and Orange Discus are going to be the parents. I thought these guys where pairing off in the first place :)

Seems to be a false alarm. I guess they are taking their time. The pair likes that spot, but haven't done it yet. I can see they are getting some mucus build up, and are starting to go a little big darker. We will see how things go...
