I think i have a discus pair forming :D
My red marlboro + pigeonblood,
Anyone got any tips? I know nothing about discus breeding  I wouldn't keep breeding them, they are in a community tank, but if there are any fry i would like to keep them.

You pretty much need a dedicated setup because the fry will need to feed off the mucus which the parents' skin produces. I am sure that they can be raised artificially, but that is often a bad idea with fish that do active parenting.

Plus you will need a large tank to raise them in with daily water changes.

I know that i would have to get another tank if i did want to raise some,
but i ment is there anything i need to know about taking care of them etc..i have small swordtail/platy fry, but these will be different to take care of :)

Raising Livebareing fish is really easy they pretty much raise them self.

The discus are a full time job if you want to do it right and get good quality fry.

You need to set up a bear tank with a sponge filter and breeding cone. Then once they spawn on the breeding cone you will need to do daily wc to keep eggs healthy. Once they hatch the fry need to be with parents for a week. You don't have to feed fry for the first few days. They feed off parents slim coat. You need to keep up wc daily. Once you take parents out you will need to feed them like 6 times a day live brine shrimp babies are best. You might even need to do wc twice a day depending on how much you feed them.
