Discus In A Juwel Rio 240?

Would a juwel rio 240 be big enough for discus or not?

Been given this tank and wondering how to stock it.

my tanks 210-240, have 6 large ones in there atm, with some rams and cories, fine imo aslong as filtration is up to it but i am selling 2 of them so 6 is only a temp number. I'd personally say go for 2 males 2 females (weather they pair or not but might keep fighting down, i have more males than females and they fight a fair bit) and some fish which are compatible, thats if your going for big fish you could get a nice shoal of smaller fish then when they get too big sell off the ones you don't want. Good idea would be a good thicket or 2 of tall broad leaf plants for hiding spots.

The tank will become fully planted eventually so that's not an issue. Filtration will be courtesy of a tetratec 1200 so that's not an issue either really. Will be going down the cat litter substrate route after some great advice from jake.

Possibly 4 discus then? Still uncertain on them or not tbh.

Sounds good. Personally if i could go back, i'd have brought a group of 8 small discus and grew them, i went straight in with 5.5-6 inchers, id deffo recommend them, they watch tv with me sometimes and are always very happy to see you so long as you havent got skittish ones, which some are, also some of mine let me stroke them, and feed out my hand, what more could u want in a fish?
