Discus, How To Make Them Eat?

OH NO! DANGER DANGER!!! AMMONIA HAS SPIKED!!!  It has reached 0.25 ppm!!!!!! QUICK ANYTHING!! I"M DOING A WATER CHANGE!!! SINCE THIS IS A EMERGANCY, I ADDED A LITTLE AMMONIA DETOX 10ml
Ammonia detox (amaquel+ or similar) is fine. Depending on the type of test kit you have it may not show any reduction in ammonia. Most of the "ammonia removers" do not acctualy remove ammonia, they make it into a harmless form. Most test kits will stil show it as ammonia.
You could have also done a WC (water change). .25 is not good but it will not do serious damage to your fish if it is only for a day or 2. It does indicate that your tank is probably not completly cycled for the present bioload. Don T.

yes. i will say that if there is a problem in ur tank it will be because of the ammonia... m8 u rly need to get those discus outa there if u want them to survive. as i said in anouther post to u they r the most fragile when it comes to stuff like that and they expect the best or die. im not sure whether ur ammonia spiked due to adding to many at once m8. did you cycle the tank seriously! if not plz get em back to the fish shop. u may be able to pay them a small fee to look after your fish until ur tank is stable. id recommend only adding one or 2 discus at a time. as mensioned, Get some plants in there! discus love plants and it helps em settle heaps faster

Fluval have biological media in them. They have a sponge (which is primarily mechanical but provides a good surface area for bacteria to colonize), and ceramic rings which are purely for bacteria growth.

If you don't have an established bacteria colony on that media, however, that may be a serious problem.

They are alive! Miraculously :fish: :fish: :D :D I've got some plants and i have changed they're water more often. I Still don't think i'm in the clear yet but things are going good! They have started to eat though not too much :) :)
