Haha I want to know why it's more like a 44% where did that number come from? Not being rude or anything I'm serious.

if you took a 100 litre tank and changed 25% of the water you would remove 25 litres and have 75 litres left, add more water and you have 75 litres of original water and 25 litres of fresh. do another 25% change and you will only be removing 18.75 litres of the original water (25% of 75). add those together and you get a change of 43.75 litres (i.e. 43.75%) :)

With water changes, you need to strike a balance. You are putting a lot of un-needed effort into them if they are bigger than required, but you stunt the fish if they are not large enough  the issue is you cannot tell when changes are too small until the fish are stunted

As others said, each to their own. I think if you "power feed" and do large water (50-100%) changes you are going to grow fish quicker. The same size and shape could probably be achieved with less feeding and water changes, but in it would take longer.
