A long tale of woe I'm afraid. 3 sick fish all full of parasitic infection. I managed to finally get them out of the main tank and into the hospital tank. 1 demonsai, 1 lab and 1 black one that I still cant remember the name of. In the catching phase another demonsai got wedged in some ocean rock and I had the devils own job of getting him out. Intact but bloody miserable. the ill demonsai and the black fella only lasted a couple of days and the rock trapped demonsai died on tuesday :-( . The lab is still doing ok albeit a little shy in the hospital tank. I discovered a very decayed fish in the same rock that the demonsai got trapped in I am assuming this was the cause of all the infection. I feel dreadful and am close to sending them all back to the LFS the whole tank is now being medicated to make sure none of the others develop any sickness. :(

Its gutting when something like that happens, im assuming the offending rock has been removed also to stop further problems.

Good luck with rest of tank

Is it parasitic infestation or bacterial infection? These are treated differently.

I'm so sorry. Most of us, in spite of all the help we get from fellow hobbyists, experience awful losses with our fish. In spite of all we do, our best teacher is still experience. So sad to say. Fish keeping is not for the faint hearted. If dog lovers lost dogs like we lose fish.... I am ashamed to say the number of fish I have lost in plagues :-( and in small tradgedies, too.

>Pats shoulder< Buck up (after an night of pizza and beer--or chocolate ice cream :) )

cheers for the 'chin up' folks. The symptoms were stringy white feaces and lack of appetite. The LFS suggested eSHa 2000 and that seems to be working for the remaining lab which is now eating a little; a small puddle of sunlight in a lake of misery. the offending rock has been stoved in repeatedly to eliminate any trapping possibilities.
