could anyone tell me, does water taken from an established aquarium serve as an all-round fertiliser? obviously it should have heaps of nitrates, but does it contain any phosphates or potassium? i'm guessing not

Im guessing nopt too. But maybe small traces. I dont care though, all the manure and stuff from your fish is great for your garden. Thats where all my fish water goes once oim done with it........Off to the rose garden..... :p

Hi noop :)

It's good to see you back on the forum again! :flowers:

I use my fish water on my houseplants and also spill it outside on a rhododendron bush and the lawn. It seems to do them good.

I especially like to use the sediment that I vacuum from the tank bottom since it contains lots of fish manure, and the water that I use to rinse out the filter media in.

And pica_nuttalli is right about algae and phosphates.

Hey...thats a good idea. My garden is gonna get loads of flowers now :)
