Should I put nutritious soil under my substrate, or just use substrate by itself?

Ok, thanks. I'm thinking about doing an ecosphere.
oh.. you can put some nutritious substrate under your substrate matters what you have. i am not an expert at ecospheres...

you might have to wait for dirt to settle beacuse it may cause ammonia spike and harm little bugs and fish and stuff in your ecosphere. will it be enclosed? or will you feed? sounds cool to me
Depends on what kind of soil it is and what plants you are looking to grow.

yes, tip im not sure if the link says this already but i like flourish liquid ferts and flourish or api root tabs

They float like crazy, which is annoying. So you need to make sure that you stick them down in the sand really good.

Limestone can raise the hardness of your water, so be careful of that.
