Bad water quality can fetch columnris on.
It lives in the background in your tank that why is best to keep up with water changes and gravel vacs.

Awww.. I'm so sorry to hear that he passed away.
Don't feel bad though. We all have to go through times like that where whether if it was our own errors or something out of our hands that caused it.
You should take comfort in knowing that you tryed everything you could for that little betta.
Don't give up either. There's always more bettas out there who need a good loving home and I know you would give one that
