My new discus tank will have three of these lighting it:

I was thinking of putting them on a bog standard timer and have them simply switch on and off.

These, though, turn out to be dimmable, so I thought "Hey, I can have sunrises and sunsets, more gradual light changes. I would prefer that."

Basically what I'm looking for is a dimmer-timer. Something that will start raising the lights at a set time, reach maximum at a set time, start dimming at a set time and reach zero at a set time.

Can anyone suggest a controller for this?

A few years ago I installed a system to do what you want but it was for fluorescent lighting in a university. Unfortunately the cost of this system would be out of the range of the average aquarist. Sorry I don't know if they do it for LED lighting but I think some manufacturer must by now have something on the market. Sorry I cant be of any more help.
