I was hoping to be able to get frozen brine shrimp to my panda's today. Dropped the cube in and in seconds the platys, swoardtails and tetra's had it gone. So I broke off a bit and placed it inside the cave where the catfish like to go, within seconds the swoardtails found it and once again none for my Panda's. The Panda's are frantically swimming around the sand looking for the food but I just can't seem to get it to them. Any idea's on how to let them have this treat too?

all i do is soak the cube in tank water in a cup (which you shud do anyway) then when you put it in it all will sink straight away and even if ur other fish eat it there will be enough for everyone

It's usually best to defrost the food before you add it. Maybe you could then spread it around the tank so it has chance to get to the bottom for them while the other fish are gobbling it up from other areas of the tank.

Do they have a favorite hiding spot? You could distract the other fish and then plop some brine shrimp there :good:

I have a similar problem. What I've started doing is defrosting it in a cup and sucking some up in a syringe and squirting it in. My platies and guppies start darting around fighting over the bits on the top and in the mid range and some gets to fall onto the bottom for the cories un-noticed. I keep doing this until the cube of bloodworms/daphnia etc has all gone. It seems to work.
Another tip is to get a dried cube of tubiflex that you can stick to the glass. I stick a cube about 3 inches from the substrate. The cories get some off the bottom and the platies and guppies either swim round eating the bit coming off in the current or nip it from the top.

I also read on here that someone buried a frozen bloodworm block in their sand for the cories to dig out. I've not tried it though

burying the food does work quite well- jsut don't bury it too deep or even the cories won't reach it. I've only tried bloodworm but I see no reason brineshrimp wouldn't work too

I'm with Akasha. Once they are thawed in a small amount of water (1/4 cup is plenty to thaw a cube), suck it all up in a turkey baster and then squeeze them out right down where the corys are shoaling.
