Hi i have a tank dimensions are - 55CM X 44Cm X 28CM on the Aquarium Calculator it adds up to 68 Litres. i was just wondering which fish i could have in the tank. i want some Tiger Barbs and some Neon Tetra's is the possible? Also whhich other fish would i be able to put in the tank? Thanks

hi

I think tigerbarbs will be too big for that tank. you could have a school of neons in there, also mollys, guppys, plattys, swordtails, etc loads of options, id put dwarf puffers in there they are real characters.

so how many do you reckon i could get in there?

I'd avoid Mollies and Swordtails as the tank isn't really big enough. Both fish can be aggressive and it may limit what fish you stock.
You could try Pentazona Barbs which are very similar to Tiger Barbs, don't grow quite as big and are very peaceful.

ok what fish would e able to mix with the neon tetra?

could i put pentazona barb with neon tetra?

As I said, Pentazona Barbs will be absolutely fine as they are so peaceful.
Glowlight Tetras would also be fine and they are fairly colourful.
It's more a question though of what other fish you like and what is available to you?

well i like the look of angel fishad clown fish

also silver back sharks

All of those fish are unsuitable for your tank, I'm afraid.
You ideally need to stick to fish that don't grow too big such as Tetras, Honey Gouramies, Rasbora etc.

so neon tetras, pentazona barbs and glowlight tetras would work out in there? how many of each? 5 neon, 5 glowlight and a few pentazona barbs?

Is the tank cycled? If not, then it is worth reading the pinned thread on fishless cycling.
If it is, then I would add 5 Glowlight Tetras to start of with.
Keep an eye on your water quality and if all is well, you should be able to add 5 Pentazona Barbs after a couple of weeks.
Neon Tetras are best suited to a tank that has been running for at least 4-6 months provided the water quality has remained stable. They are very sensitive fish and will do better in a tank that has matured.
