Big difference. A tap water filter removes chlorines and chloramines at the least and often heavy metals and minerals. An Emperor filter removes some of the same stuff but is not nearly as effective and uses carbon that runs out of absorbing power after a week.

Additionally, a tapwater filter usually is connected to a faucet or sink whereas the Emperor is attached to an aquarium.

so like i should buy the tap water filter instead the emperor? if i didnt get it let me kno its 3 am :p so i kinda tend to be slow at this time :p

2am here, and you'll need the Emperor filter more than the tap filter if you want your fish to live. :) A filter on the tank is always more important than one on the tap. The tap filter also has uses outside of aquariums, like drinking water but an Emperor only has the one use for the aquarium.

You need the emperor. all the tap water does is same thing as if you had a Pur or britta water filter. It purifies the water but it isn't intended for a fishtank is isn't powered. You NEED the emperor the rest is option.

No, it doesn't mean more water changes. I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean actually.
