I'm setting up a tank for my betta and it is going to be full of plants so I was looking for plant substrate. I thought I would suport the local mom pop shop. But they did not have it because it's "too hard to clean every month and you need to switch it out." whatever so I was looking around saw some dead fish and some sad ones I need to sneak camera in there.
So I was talking to the older women that runs the store. They had some nice larger oscars in good shape. Most of the time they look like #¥•@"'* I asked if she orders them that size she said yeah and some are trade in. I said this one looks good. She said they do till they are "3 feet". Yes she said Oscar get to be 3 feet. She told me once they get big she ships them back. Wow I was thinking. This lady is a nut. I did see a 14" Oscar that filled a 30gal tank at that store it also had bad HITH.
Next time I will have to get photo of this place.
