hi all. i know its not recommended but i brought on impulse the other day! brought a male and female ram.............. they have settled in fine and love their new home and investigating! my only concern is my ph is 7.6 and i read they like softer water. is this going to be ok? if not how can i change ph..........

I know you realise you're overstocked, but these rams might be the nail in a coffin. A breeding pair may well try and breed in your tank over time, and that will lead to territorial issues. I'd recommend rehoming some of those fish now. Having an overstocked tank with territorial fish is inevitably going to be a disaster.

i believe it would still be ok if you heavily plant the middle, doesn't have to be wide...
then put caves either side, if they can't see them they wont bother them...

also wouldn't look daft if you planted a thin line across the back, aswell as down the middle.

i have done a fair ammount of reading after my impulse buy. am overstocked by approx 15cm. have extra filtration and no problems
