I like canines, they are smart
My dog used to walk up and down the creek feeling for things with her feet. When she found something she would stick her head underwater and grab the item in her mouth and carry it up onto the bank. She did this once during the brown jellyfish season and covered the entire bank in jellyfish

She also taught herself to hunt and stalk prey like a cat does. She would move slowly with her tail down and even crawl along on her belly. When her prey looked she froze and would stay still until the prey looked away, then continue stalking. The papillon on the other hand would just race in and flush everything out. She was no good at hunting but loved chasing things that ran away.

Some wolves can work in city planning departments as construction supervisors. They are said to blow down poorly constructed houses.

I suspect a limiting factor in tool use by other animals is a lack of thumbs, or methods beyond their mouths to manipulate objects. But the more we watch with open minds, the more we permit ourselves to see.
