I truly believe that there are more species that were considered being extinct, that they're still around but at spots we never thought of.

I agree, but I also think a lot of fish species have recently gone extinct, before we had even recognized they were there. With the many small Betta species in restricted ranges, swamp drainage has been fatal, and deforestation has done its bit.

It's also a shame that a lot of nature were demolished to make space for industry and housing. A lot of animals losing their natural habitats. And all that for our vain comfort and the hunger for money...
 
Deforestation and industry are ever more rapidly destroying what little remains of wild earth . Colonial capitalism is not satisfied with no growth . Author Edward Abbey said it best , “ Growth for growths sake is the ideology of the cancer cell . “
