Diatom

Can the pool dim. Earth be used in this filter. Their (Vortex) site indicated that it cannot, but I fail to see what the difference is. The pool stuff is WAY cheaper....about 7 bucks for 20 lbs........
Any comments appreciated.

Hi ray, I don't think anyone in the UK uses diatom filters these days. You'll have to wait and see who replies from your side of the pond. Sorry m8. Mac.

Ray, if you have purchased a vortex already, I can't really help, don't know much about them. If you are researching a way to polish your water, check out Marinelands MAgnum 350 canister. I have one of these and have used the optional micron cartridge with great success. You can pick this system up on Ebay brand new for around a hundred bucks.
