Today I took delivery of a pair of Diapteron fulgens LEC 93/7 from a fellow enthusiast on the mainland.(UK)
They are a beautiful, yet an exceptionally small (35mm) species from the Ivindo basin in the African state of Gabon.
Found in small, swampy streams deep in the dark primary rainforest. Its a little, rarely seen jewel.

Quite a demanding little fellow and one that will present me with a challenge.
I hope to collect the other four members that go to make up the Genus Diapteron, namely Abacinum, Cyanostictum, Georgiae and Seegersi

I will post some images shortly.

Beautiful, but the one in your Avatar still beats it.... What is that, and do you have any of those??

Where you been Ludwig.
I have those comming out my ears. (Rivulus xiphidius my speciality) Certainly not an easy fish to deal with but I love a good challenge. In fact I still have to post some eggs to Tyrone, poor sod's gone and got married. And I have to wait a couple of months until the weather gets cooler or so I'm told. LOL

Wow, what a stunner! I have been admiring pictures of the Diapterons. I would like to obtain fulgens myself some day. Are they extremely hard to keep and come by?

Extremely
You'll find that what few breeders there are out there will not let their fish go readily, hence the scarcity and high prices for individual pairs. They will however part with some stock to breeders with a proven track record, but even then there are no guarantee's.
