I need 2 24" light fixtures that are 40 to 65w and fairly cheap. What kind should I be looking for?

I can't find nutrifin kits. All I can find are Hagen kits. Are they the same?

I am in the states so any one know the best place to get these things?

I have new plants and really want them to do well. I need to order these things fairly quickly.

Thanks for helping! :friends:

The Nutrafin kit is made by Hagen so I assume they are the same thing - unless you specifically want the ladder with the kit you can make your own for cheaper using some old pop bottles and the relevant diffuser.

Can't comment much on lights, I am using Interpet Power Compact T5's at the moment so not sure onother models etc.

So the plant gro system will work the same, or is the same... I was hunting something that said "nutrifin" on it. I don't have a clue what I am doing. I have learned a lot, but I am still confused most of the time. I am mostly afraid of making a mistake that I can't afford to fix. The kit I found is 27.00 and I will need probably atleast 4 to begin with so I just wanted to make sure that I don't get the wrong kind. I won't have the money to replace them anytime soon.

My tanks are on stands that don't have room around them to set things on. Where does the canister go? Does it sit on top of the tank?

Hopefully someone will come along soon that has used some different kinds of lights, and can tell me what is cheap and works. If not I will just pick one and hope for the best. Anything has to be better than what I have now. I want to get the lights and co2 kits ordered tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks for helping!

For 4 kits at 27 each, does that not get close to the cost of a pressurised system?

Yes, but they are going in 3 different tanks. 1 each for 2 tanks and 2 for the biggest one.

I can't find the light you mentioned. Everything comes up uk not us. Any ideas on something similar? or maybe something else?

Thanks :friends:

t5 compact tubes and starters are the only ones at that wattage for that length of tube.

search interpet t5 compact or asl comapct t5 make some.

I can't find those fixtures in the us.

I found odyssea light fixtures at aquatraders. They are 34.90 each. Are they any good?
They say 24" 65w unistrip coompact fluorescent light fuxture (w), or (w/b).

What does (w) or (w/b) mean?

please help!

Thanks :good:

you could buy a pressurized set-up with a splitter to run to all you tank..that would provude much more stable co2

The tanks are all over the house. I would have to have hoses running to each room. I really don't think that would work.

What about the lights I found? Any good?
What does w w/b mean?

Thanks!

There are 2 light fixtures at aquatraders. 1 says w and 1 says wb... what is the difference?

Please... someone look at them and tell me what the difference is! I don't know which one to get. I also need to know if I will need anything else. Are they the kind that is ready to use as is?

I know I am asking a lot, but I don't want to mess up and get the wrong thing. I won't have the money to get anything else once I get these.

Thanks! :good:

Is there no one out there that knows what that means? I need to know.
My plants are not happy with the almost nonexistent lighting that they now have. I really need to get some ordered soon, but I don't know which one to order. I need to know what that means.
Please... please... help me.

I found a nutrifin kit so that will be sorted soon. I just need to find out about these lights.
Thanks :good:

Both are here on that page. (If that works right) Please look and tell me what the difference is between the one with the w and the one with the w/b.
Also... the pic doesn't show it all connected and stuff, but if I understood it right... it should be ready to use. Is it fully put together and ready to use or not?

Thanks for looking and helping. I have become confused...
