So I had a male in my female tank he was a KHM he didn't bother the any of the girls when he flared at them if they flared back he would run off. Well one of my bigger girls apparently fell inlove with him even though he was apparently older then I thought and died this afternoon a actually very peaceful death. Well my girl after I took out his body (she was resting next to him) started hitting the glass of the tank fairly hard so I put her in a flexible plastic tank even though she did enough damage to her jaw that she can't properly open it...

I have to say this is a first for me to see this sort of action from any fish I have owned and definitely with bettas.

Anyone have a cure to my bettas depression?

Hi there,- I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your boy :( Sorry I don't know what to say about your girlie. I hope that she doesn't pine too much and returns to her normal self in a few days. I've had major loss issues with other pets,- but not fish. Normally with my ferrets it takes about a week for the others to come to terms with the loss of one of their group.

She died this morning she managed to get out of the tank through the small slit ment for the air hose I guess I will bury her next to him underneath the Japanese maple in my backyard

OMG I am sooo sorry to hear this :rip: :rip:  What an awful situation for you to be in. Perhaps she didn't realise where he was and was trying to find him? They are together again now, which is what would make her happy.

Was really hoping for a better situation I guess and thanks hopefully they are both happier

It's going to be so hard for you to deal with in such a short space of time  Take comfort in knowing that they are together again though and wont ever be parted.

It is obvious they really loved each other. It is not easy for us to understand this, but it happens between animals too. I'm very sorry for this lost, I can imagine what you're going through. Be strong and think at them as they are now together in peace. This may be a great example of love and devotion for us.

Thanks all and you are all right that they will be happy together they will also help make a very beautiful tree together
