Denison Barb.....

Hi There

My smallest barb has a mouth issue. It all looks clean no fungus ore anything. but it looks to have been ripped or had a chunk taken. his mouth is deformed a bit as you hopefully can see in the pic.

He has also got the top half alot darker now. (Stress) What can i doo? he doesnt seem to be being bullied. Im thinking he got caught up with a 15 way frenzy for an alge tablet.....

What should i do?

Can he still eat.
Does his mouth looked bleached out.
If the fish can't eat you are better ending his misery.

He is eating some food but not loads. but its a bit of a frenzy in there at feeding time. i try to spread it for him.

He is breathing quite fast but barbs do it might just be more noticable as his mouth doesn't close fully.He is swiming but not like normal, rests alot.

As to his mouth it looks fine colour wise.

Just wondering if i sould quarantine him to allow him to eat more and rest up a bit..... im not a med fan but i do have some melafix to aid recovery of the mouth.

Thoughts???

He dosn't sound to good to me.
If he resting could have an internal infection.
Melafix is no good its only good on cuts and wounds.
Does the mouth look like its rotting away.

No its doesn't look like rot. it looks like a clean removal. ill try for a cleaner shot.

I would leave him be for now but to be honest the out come looks bleak bless him.
