Does anyone have information pictures or expirience with Demason's. I'm thinking about them. What are the tank reqiurments

My Avatar pic is a Demsoni. I would say 55 gal is essential for these fish. They are stunning to look at but extremely aggressive. probably best kept in a species only tank as compatibile tankmates are rare. If you do try and combine them with other Mbuna, you need to ensure that they are not similar in appearance and are also aggressive species.

I have had success combining them with Melanochromis Auratus and Albino Socolofi. They are also best kept as a single male and several females. More males are possible if you choose a large tank or carefully aquascape a 55 gal.

Hope this helps

Demasoni are very tough, very aggressive little fish.

Best way to keep these guys is in a heavily stocked species tank. Most of the aggression with them is conspecific, so whether in a species or community tank, the more of their own number there are, the less chance of fatal aggression. The general experience is that if you start off with only 3 or 4 or 5 of these guys you'll see them picked off one at a time until there's only one. In a 55 gallon I'd recommend about 15-20 in a species tank.

Because aggression is usually limited to within their group, a single specimen can usually be added to an mbuna community fairly safely, as long as there are no other mbuna too close in appearance.

I have decided to get a tank for a group of Demasonis. What is the ph, hardness, food requirments, ect.
